Bill Cohen is a workshop speaker and caregiver support group facilitator, an Alzheimer’s Association volunteer, and a caregiving consultant. His loving and talented mother, Sheila, lost her home to Hurricane Katrina. Then, she lost her health, ability to create beautiful art, and her life due to Alzheimer’s. For 10 years, he was her primary caregiver and advocate, not just her elder son. Since he experienced all issues first-hand, Bill is a guide for family caregivers. He helps families reduce their stress and cope with dementia care by coordinating and collaborating with their support team using a wraparound approach, including: elder law, financial matters, health care, options for housing, home, or hospice care, and long distance caregiving. Bill asks questions and listens, assesses your needs, and then works on an hourly or monthly basis. Bill provides experienced, objective guidance, and referrals to trustworthy resources and service providers. Speaking fees are negotiable.
